The fresh water filling is an automatic function that drains the sea water inside the filter, and refills with fresh water from the ships fresh water tanks.

Purpose/benefit:
Fresh water filling is to avoid that biological organisms inside the filter is getting stuck in the mesh. This will prevent starting the system with high DP (differential pressure) and reduces the probability of having to perform a manual cleaning of the filtering element.
